Sam Fishkin – Executive Producer

Starting out as a radio DJ, Sam Fishkin soon discovered the joy of recording those albums rather than just spinning them. Finding any way to be part of the process, he invited bands to the radio station, broadcast live concerts, mixed bands live at clubs, touring with one in an ol’ Econline van and, eventually, landed in a recording studio.

That led to projects as diverse as recording full orchestras for commercials, recording blues legends like Koko Taylor and mixing Lollapalooza’s main stage for theatrical release.

Film work includes critically acclaimed Punch 9 for Harold Washington by Joe Winston, Eastland: Chicago’s Deadliest Day, winner of the 2020 Chicago/Midwest EMMY for Outstanding Audio, Head Games directed by Oscar nominee Steve James (Hoop Dreams and The Interrupters), and Allegory of the Cave by director Sandro Miller and starring John Malkovich.

Television work includes the WTTW-PBS series Chicago Stories, and Geoffrey Baer’s Chicago Mysteries, CNBC’s American Greed, and the PBS special Live from the Harris Theater Adrian Dunn’s Emancipation which won the 2023 Chicago/Midwest EMMY for Outstanding Audio.

A New Jersey native, Sam graduated from Northwestern University with a major in Radio, TV & Film. He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society, EARS (Chicago), National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Society of Composers and Lyricists, and is past-president of the board of The Actors Gymnasium Circus Theater.
